Berlin, Berlin, Berlin.
It was an accidental trip. My best friend and I booked it as a result of a night out, and initially, it should have been to Riga, in Latvia. Due to a complication with the travel company (we went through a second party site; probably not ideal...), the holiday didn't exist, so they offered us a trip to Berlin instead. We went 2 weeks before our final uni exam, but we still went anyway, despite everyone (and us) thinking the timing was really poor!

We flew from Manchester 9th May, and a part from smashing and water damaging my now unusable phone just hours before the flight, we both had the most amazing few days. All we really did was drink cocktails, sightsee, get fined on the metro and eat, but it was one eventful 3 day trip.

On the first day, we found ourselves in the square of Alexanderplatz, where we sat down and managed to figure out the public transport system. This is 7.70euros for the day, valid on any form of transport. Make sure you have a validated ticket though; it's a 60 euro on the spot fine if you don't!

We'd been to Poland with two of our other friends in first year, so Berlin tied in really well to our trip to Auschwitz.
