I'm in Kuwait!

Ok. I'm fully aware I haven't updated this blog in nearly 2 months. I'm sorry! Have you ever started a new job? Graduated university? Moved halfway across the world? How about all 3 at the same time? Let me tell you about the last 2 months!
The last time you heard from me, I told you I'd landed my first ever blogging gig as a blogger for the educational giant Twinkl. My first post is officially up, and you can read it here. I'm still mega excited about the new venture, and I can't wait to see what's coming!
Anyway, Kuwait! I flew out from Cardiff Airport on August 19th with another lovely lady who is also working at my company. I was greeted with a 10hour+ journey with a stop over in Doha, Qatar. I made it to Kuwait at 10pm and the first thing I was greeted with was burning heat of 40 degrees. That is the norm here (I've got used to it now... 22 degrees feels like ice!), so I was in for a surprise!

I arrived at my new home very late at night, but I loved it. It was so big, modern and has a pool and a gym.

From there is has been a whirlwind. From a week of incredible induction activities including a beach club, the souk, and the biggest shopping mall in the Middle East, to a week of classroom set up, to meeting my class for the first time, it's gone so fast I've forgotten to update you on it all.
It's not all been fun, however. A huge contribution to my lack of motivation to write was the passing of my grandmother. If you know me personally, you know that I was incredibly close to my granny. When a loved one passes away, it's unbearable, but when you are 4000miles away and can't legally go home, it's an excruciating pain. Her last conversation with me was "Jenny, if you don't go to Kuwait because of me, I'll bloody kill you", but I never thought my last sentence to her would be a lie: "Of course I'm still going, I'll see you at Christmas and I'll tell you all about it!". It has been the hardest month of my life, but I'm learning to love my new life here, and I know she would be happy to see me here.
